Help us plant British saplings near Haydon Bridge, Northumberland to provide a habitat for local wildlife and sequester carbon dioxide. Protect Earth is a reforestation charity that helps plant the right trees in the right place. We work with local climate action groups and volunteers so we can all do this on a shoestring budget, and save the planet a little bit every week.

We are going to be planting 750 trees in Northumberland and we need your help. We'll be planting Pendunculate Oak, Alder, Crab Apple, Wild Service Tree, Rowan, Hornbeam, Small-leaved Lime, Wild Cherry, Field Maple, Scot’s Pine, Sessile Oak, Downy Birch, Wych Elm, Aspen, Alder, Rowan, Small-leaved Lime, Goat Willow, Wild Cherry, Bird Cherry, Holly, Hazel, and Hawthorn.

Things we ask that you bring if possible:

  • Gardening gloves - the sturdier the better

  • Sturdy footwear - preferably boots or wellies

  • Plenty of food and water

  • Hand sanitiser

  • If you have a small border spade or a fencing spade / drainage shovel (which have a narrow/pointed blade) these are ideal for tree planting please do bring it along. A large spade is ok, too. Don't worry too much if you can't bring a spade as we have a few.

Bathroom facilities will be provided.

We'll send out more information closer to the time about how and where parking works, but we always appreciate anyone who can uses trains/bikes/etc to ease parking on the farm, and of course reduce emissions!
